World Cup 2022 - Cameroon: Song vs Onana saga continues

We have not yet finished talking about the Onana case in Cameroon. A video of Rigobert Song came to feed the machine and put oil on the fire.

Overnight, Andre Onana was dismissed from the Cameroonian selection for indiscipline. The Inter goalkeeper then decided to return even before the game against Brazil. If several sources spoke of a tactical disagreement with the coach Rigobert Song, the causes of the altercation were not known. But a video that has been circulating since Thursday morning has set off the fire. We see Song, filmed without his knowledge, explaining the reasons for this dispute.

"I went to see the president and told him that I did not want to work with the little one [Andre Onana]. He [Onana] came to see me, it was the day before the game [against Serbia, November 28]. I told him: "I don't have time, I'm preparing my guys. If you wanted to talk to me, you should have come before. Yesterday it was me who called you, you did not come," said Rigobert Song. Before returning to a detail that was important in training, before facing Serbia. For him, Onana did not seem concerned. "There is only one problem: in training, he does his one-man show, he plays with his feet. I called him and told him: 'My boy, these are risks. Play the ball on the side. It's easier on the side because you can lose it and come back quickly'".

"I stopped training".

Later, Rigobert Song explains how Samuel Eto'o, president of FECAFOOT, supported him in his decision. "I talk to Vincent Aboubakar, Zambo Anguissa, Choupo-Moting, the Enzo Ebossé. You I can not talk to you? I stopped the training, I told everyone to go to the locker room. I told him: "you have spoiled my training". The president (Eto'o) was in the stands, he saw everything. He [Onana] goes to see the president [Samuel Eto'o]. He thinks that, as he is with him every day, he will support him. The president told him, go see the coach. This is how Rigobert Song explained his altercation with the Inter Milan goalkeeper, who returned to Cameroon even before the third and final group match won against Brazil (1-0).

The stories do not seem to add up rightly as during a press conference in Doha, the same coach Rigobert Song told the world that it was Onana who decided not to play and walked away from the team.
