Delta Queens pulled off the biggest win of the Nigeria Women's Football League campaign, beating defending champion Bayelsa Queens 2-1 during the midweek at Samson Siasia Stadium.
The top-of-the-table clash in Group A in Yenagoa, saw the visiting Delta side made a huge statement in their quest for title this season, gaining the lead through Chinaza Agoh in 51st minute after a barren first half.
The hosts, however, fought back to level matters through Chinyere Igboamalu four minutes later before the visitors left it late to smatch the unancitipated matchwinner thanks to Agoh's late strike at the death.
The victory hands Delta Queens a five-point lead at the top of Group A, and followed by holders Bayelsa Queens.
At Dan Anyiam Stadium, Heartland Queens defeated Osun Babes, 2-0 to record her second win of the season thanks to goals from Mary Lucky and Chizoba ensured the victory for the hosts in Owerri, Imo State.
In Lagos, Robo Queens thrashed Adamawa Queens to earn its second win of the campaign and first win on home soil. The Lagos Landladies got off to a bright start through Misturat Yusuf opener in the 17th minute.
