Edo Queens bounced back to winning ways following a 2-0 victory over Robo Queens in a Nigeria Women's Football League Premiership encounter at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Wednesday.
Goals from Fajobi Yetunde and Suliat Abideen were all Moses Aduku's side required to bounce back from a 2-1 loss at Confluence Queens and complete a double over the Lagos Landladies in the top of the table clash in Benin City.
After a 1-0 win at Nasarawa Amazons, Robo Queens were seeking a revenge for their first home loss to the Benin Arsenals but they made a false start when Fajobi opened the scoring for the hosts in the 22nd minute.
In the second half, Abideen struck 18 minutes after the restart to seal the victory for the home side. The victory sent Edo back to the top with 18 points from nine games, while Robo dropped to fourth with 16 points from 10 matches.
Earlier, Confluence Queens could not extend their winning streak to five as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Adamawa Queens at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium.
Isigwe Chukwuamaka missed the most promising opportunity from the penalty to deny the Whyte Ogbonda's side the maximum points and also a chance to go top of the standings for the first time this season.
The draw keeps Confluence Queens in second with 17 points, while Adamawa are sixth with 10 points from nine.
Elsewhere, Heartland Queens held title holders Bayelsa Queens to a 0-0 draw for the second time this season.
This time, the Owerri outfit claimed a point off Domo Okara's team at the Dan Anyiam Stadium to keep their survival hopes alive and also remain fifth on the log with nine points, while Bayelsa are second with 16 points.
In Osogbo, it ended in a barren stalemate between Osun Babes and Naija Ratels at the Osogbo Township Stadium.
With both teams facing different fortunes, Osun aiming for survival, while Ratels seeking to maintain their Super Six qualification bid, but the contest ended with the two sides sharing the spoils.
In Warri, the battle royale in the Delta derby also ended with no victor, nor vanquish as Royal Queens forced high-flying Delta Queens to a drab 0-0 draw at the Warri Township Stadium.
Also in Uyo, Ibom Angels could not bounce back from their disappointing run of result as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Nasarawa Amazons at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
After a goalless first half, Ayatsea Hembafan's 48th minute effort was all Christopher Danjuma's side needed to return to winning ways following a shocking 1-0 home defeat to Robo Queens last week.
The win sees Nasarawa climb to third with 16 points, while the loss leaves Ibom rooted bottom with six points.
