Here's a statement that's got people talking. Achraf Hakimi's agent, Alejandro Camañoa, gave an interview to AS. It was an opportunity for him to talk about a whole host of issues concerning his player. He took the opportunity to tackle Mbappé's mother, and spoke about the accusations of sexual assault against the Moroccan as well as the mercato. Here are a few highlights.
In the world of football, agents vie with each other to steal as many top players as possible from other agents. Fayza Lamari, the mother of Kylian Mbappé, recently announced the creation of her own agency to represent players. Alejandro Camaño, Achraf Hakimi's agent, fears for his interests. He fears that Fayza Lamari will take advantage of the closeness between his protégé and Mbappé to steal his player.
"We are surprised that the mere fact of being the mother of an important player should allow her to interfere in the deal. Ashraf is part of the Footfeel family, he has been convinced of the project for many years and he has a friendly relationship with Kylian that we respect. But the fact that Mbappé's environment, which is quite dense because of all the people around him, is leaking that Ashraf could be part of his agency is unusual because of his lack of experience on the market. Being the mother of a player is not enough, it seems to me to show a lack of respect for the profession, there are great agents who deal with a very tough market and make people with no experience want to opt for players of this importance. We think it's a hoax," said Hakimi's representative.
Mercato
Achraf Hakimi has been the subject of numerous rumours since the start of the summer transfer window. First there was the player's desire to return to Inter or Real. Then, in the last few hours, there has been interest from Manchester City. Alejandro Camaño sets the record straight.
"Achraf left Madrid five years ago, Madrid is still his home, but today we have to be in love with the project that pays him, and that's PSG. If Madrid want Achraf, logically we will listen to him, if you ask him you will see that he is a Madrid fan, but our project now is PSG. If PSG are interested in the future or if both parties want to change the course of the situation... then we'll sit down and work on it. We are part of the profession and we have to accept the challenges. Sometimes things go wrong and you have to change course, but today it would be a mistake to think about Madrid.
Sexual assault
Alejandro Camaño has not escaped extra-sporting issues either. Hakimi has been charged with rape and placed under judicial supervision following accusations of sexual assault by a 24-year-old woman, and his agent believes that this has had a negative impact on the Moroccan's second half of the season. What's more, he believes the right-back will be cleared by the book.
"It's fair, we believe 150% in the dignity and kindness of a healthy boy, who doesn't need to do anything out of line. He's been separated from his wife, he can have contact with whoever he wants, but he's never gone beyond the normal. We believe he will be found not guilty in a situation that we are sure never happened.
