Panathinaikos, Genoa and Verona are competing to sign defender William Troost-Ekong, according to Sky Italia. The 29-year-old Nigerian centre-back, who belongs to Watford, has been on loan at Salernitana this season. However, the Serie A outfit will not lift his option to buy.
Troost-Ekong played just 9 games during his loan spell. Despite this, he is still highly rated by the clubs interested in his profile. Only his parent club, Watford, currently have him in their plans for the coming season in the Championship (English D2).
William Troost-Ekong will return to #WatfordFC in the summer, with Salernitana choosing not to make his loan deal permanent.
