Senegal and Algeria, both of whom have already qualified for the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations finals, will fine-tune their preparations with a friendly match. It was made official on Monday, and will pit the last two African champions against each other. The match will be held on 12 September at the Stade Abdoulaye Wade in Diamniadio. To mark the occasion, the Senegalese FA is planning to showcase all the continental titles won by its various national teams in recent months.

Following on from this match, two other Senegal-Algeria fixtures will take place, this time at women's level. These two matches will take place on 14 and 18 July at the Stade Lat Dior in Thiès.
