Francis Ngannou has achieved his second goal since leaving the UFC. The Cameroonian will face Tyson Fury this October, and is set to collect a cash prize he's never had before.
"Oh my God, I can tell from afar. Very far indeed. Even if he was champion, he would have had to fight several times just to be in that range," fumes Francis Ngannou's manager Marquel Martin midway through last week when asked if his colt's fee for his fight against Tyson Fury was more substantial than those pocketed in the UFC.
A few days later, The Mirror went a step further. The British media outlet revealed the prize money that the Cameroonian fighter will earn. "Ngannou will receive $8 million (7.12 million euros), excluding bonuses", informs the British press. A handsome sum, given that the Cameroonian has only amassed $4 million from his 14 UFC fights. That's why he's always wanted to leave the American combat sports organization.
The fight between Francis Ngannou and undefeated boxing champion Tyson Fury is scheduled for October in Saudi Arabia. The rules and exact date of this opposition have not yet been revealed.
