Former Moroccan Olympic champion Nawal El Moutawakel has been re-elected to the World Athletics Board. She has been re-elected for a further four-year term. The re-election took place on Thursday, August 17, at the 54th World Athletics Congress in Budapest, Hungary.
Nawal El Moutawakel is one of 13 members elected, along with Beatrice Ayikoru from Uganda. A member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board, the 1984 Los Angeles 400 m hurdles Olympic champion has been on the World Athletics Board since 1995.
