The Mozambican Football Federation (FMF) has set the Mambas' qualification bonus for the African Cup of Nations at 250,000 Meticais (3,500 euros). The governing body of Mozambican soccer will also give 70,000 Meticais (1,000 euros) in the event of victory over Benin. All in all, the Mambas stand to win 320,000 Meticais (4,600 euros).
Second in Group L, Mozambique (7 points) would qualify for the next AFCON if they beat Benin (3rd, 5 points) at home on September 9.
The last time the Mozambican national team took part in the CAN was in 2010, in Angola. Mozambique won all three of its group matches.
