Budapest Worlds: Ta Lou cried after the 100 m final

Ivorian sprinter Marie-José Ta Lou has had a very good season, particularly in the Diamond League.Unfortunately, at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, she finished 4th in the 100 m final. A result that was hard for her to take."It really hurt and I still can't say I'm over it.[...] I wanted to win a medal but I finished fourth. I was in a situation where I was crying alone in my room". But the athlete recovered thanks to the help of many people. "The support I received from fans all over the world and from my fellow competitors was my saving grace".

Ta Lou, touched but not discouraged, has set her sights on competing in the Paris Olympics. "Right now, I can say that Paris 2024 is my last and in two years, I'll say, 'Oh, my God, I'm still here and I'm giving the Olympics another chance," she says wryly.
