FIFA Club World Cup: Fifpro criticizes new format

At its meeting on Sunday, FIFA announced the official launch of a new 32-team Club World Cup format for 2025, to be held from mid-June to mid-July. According to Fifpro, the soccer calendar is getting very busy. The global players' union denounced "a lack of consideration for players' mental and physical health, as well as a disregard for their personal and family lives", in a statement published this Sunday on its social networks.

The union calls on Fifa to "initiate discussions with all soccer stakeholders to introduce regulations on player health and safety to support the well-being of professional footballers".
