Montpellier's Guinean fullback Issiaga Sylla will be playing in his 4th Can with the Syli National.Guinea are in Group C alongside Gambia, Senegal and Cameroon. The 29-year-old analyzed the group for journalists on the Montpellier website. "It's a very complicated group. You could almost say it's a pool of death. Senegal are very strong, and for me, they're the big favourites for the competition. We have bad memories of Gambia, who knocked us out in the last 16 of the last edition, so we know what a good team they are. As for Cameroon, there's no longer any need to introduce this team, which is one of the great African nations."
Sylla spoke of Guinea's objectives in this competition. "We're not favourites, that's for sure, but we have players in our squad capable of making the difference at any moment. I know that this group is capable of great things, and I firmly believe that we'll qualify for the last 16. After that, we'll see what happens, but with the talent we've got, I'm convinced we can have a great tournament," he said.
