Guinea put in a fine performance against Gambia at the AFCON 2023. The Syli Nationale won (1-0) thanks to a goal by Aguibou Camara after the hour mark (69th). The Guineans, who dominated the game, created several clear-cut chances and could have added to their tally.
Mohamed Bayo hit the post in the first half (32nd) before hitting the crossbar after the break (78th). He even had a one-on-one opportunity at the end of the game. A powerless Gambia
Beaten 3-0 by Senegal in their opening match, the Gambians failed to get the reaction they needed to get back on track against Guinea. The Scorpions were dominated and created a few chances but failed to convert them. And even when they thought they had equalised through Yankuba Minteh, the goal was disallowed for offside. A tough defeat for Gambia, who are virtually eliminated.
