Football: A weekend of doubles for Africans

It was a weekend of goals and entertainment in Europe, with special mention for Gabon's Aubameyang, Morocco's En-Nesyri and El Kaabi, Algeria's Kadri and Soudani and Ghana's Yeboah, who all scored twice.

In England (matchday 27), Brentford (15th) and Chelsea (11th) played out a 2-2 draw. Congolese Yoane Wissa scored the home side's second goal, while Senegalese Nicolas Jackson had opened the scoring for the Londoners. Bournemouth (13th) beat Burnley (2-0) with a goal from Ghanaian Antoine Semenyo.

In Germany (matchday 24), Guinean Serhou Guirassy was again decisive in VfB Stuttgart's (3rd) 3-2 win at Wolfsburg.

In Spain (Matchday 27), Moroccan internationals were in the spotlight. Sevilla (14th) beat Real Sociedad 3-2 thanks to a brace from Youssef En-Nesyri. Munir El Haddadi scored for Las Palmas (8th), who drew with Getafe (3-3).

In France (matchday 24), 7th-placed Marseille beat Clermont 5-1, with a goal from Senegalese Iliman Ndiaye and a brace from Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Algerian Bilal Boutobba saved the Auvergnats' honor. Toulouse (10th) beat Nice (5th) 2-1. Ivorian Yann Gboho scored for TFC, while Nigerian Terem Moffi opened the scoring for Les Aiglons. Lorient (13th) won (2-1) at Rennes (8th) thanks to Ivorians Mohamed Bamba and Eli Junior Kroupi, while the Rennes goal was scored by Algerian Amine Gouiri.

In Italy (matchday 27), 15th-placed Udinese were held to a 1-1 draw by Salernitana, despite a goal from Ivorian Haroun Kamara. Moroccan Walid Cheddira scored for Frosinone (16th) against Lecce (1-1). Atalanta Bergamo (6th) were dominated at home by Bologna (1-2) despite a goal from Nigerian Ademola Lookman.

In Belgium (matchday 28), FC Brugge (3rd) won at Genk (3-0) with a goal from Ghanaian Denis Odoi. Ivorian Parfait Guiagon helped Charleroi (11th) to a 1-0 win at Westerlo. Kortrijk (16th) dominated RWD Molenbeek (3-2) thanks to a brace from Algerian Abdelkahar Kadri.

Nigeria's Chidera Ejuke scored one of three goals for Royal Antwerp (4th) against Saint-Trond (3-0).Standard Liège beat La Gantoise (7th) 4-2, with a goal from Ivorian Wilfried Kanga and a brace from Ghanaian Kelvin Yeboah. In Greece, Moroccan Ayoub El Kaabi struck again on matchday 26, scoring twice as Olympiakos Piraeus (3rd) beat Volos 3-0. His compatriot Nordin Amrabat opened the scoring for AEK Athens (2nd), who drew with Aris Salonika (3-3).

In the Netherlands (24th day), Feyenoord Rotterdam (2nd) drew 2-2 at PSV Eindhoven, with a goal from Gambian Yankuba Minteh. SC Heerenveen (9th) dominated PEC Zwolle (2-0) with a penalty from Moroccan Anas Tahiri.

In Portugal (matchday 24), Congolese (DRC) Simon Banzsa scored again as Sporting Braga (4th) eased to victory over Estrela Amadora, while Guinea's Morlaye Sylla scored the fifth goal for Arouca (7th), easy winners at Chaves (5-1).

Mathew lifts FC Zurich
In Switzerland (matchday 26), third-placed FC Zurich beat Young Boys Berne 1-0 thanks to Nigerian Ifeanyi Mathew.

In Turkey (matchday 28), Fenerbahce Istanbul (1st) won at Hatayspor (2-0) with a goal from Nigerian Bright Osoyi-Samuel. Ankaragüçü (13th) were held at home by Istanbulbulspor (1-1) despite a goal from Cameroonian Christian Bassogog.

In Austria (matchday 21), Ivorian Karim Konaté helped RB Salzburg consolidate top spot after a 1-0 win over Austria Lustenau.

In Slovenia (24th), Algeria's Hilal Soudani scored twice as third-placed Maribor beat Domzale 3-0.

In Serbia (matchday 23), Red Star Belgrade (2nd) dominated TSC (3-1) with a penalty from Gabonese Guélor Kanga and a goal from Ghanaian Osman Bukari.

In Ukraine (matchday 19), Burkina Faso's Lassina Traoré scored the fifth goal for Shakthar Donetsk (3rd) against Kryvbas (5-2).
