The FA Cup quarter-final clash finally delivered its verdict. Manchester United beat Liverpool on Sunday March 17. Final score 4-3 after extra time.
Things didn't look good for the Reds from the outset, with McTominay opening the scoring in the 10th minute. But Mac Allister (44th) equalised for the visitors. Mohamed Salah (45+2) then scored his record 13th goal in 14 English derbies to put Liverpool ahead.
However, Antony equalised for Manchester in the 87th minute to force extra time (2-2). Harvey Elliot (105th) restored Liverpool's lead at 3-2, but Marcus Rashford (112th) levelled the scores at 3-3. Ivorian Amad Diallo (120+1) finally gave the Red Devils victory and a place in the semi-finals. Unfortunately, the Ivorian winger was sent off shortly afterwards, after receiving a 2nd yellow for his celebration. But he had already qualified his team.
