She is one of the great figures of world athletics who have agreed to take part in the 13th All-Africa Games. Ese Brume, the Nigerian horizontal jump specialist, was competing in the long jump. She won the competition with a jump of 6m92, ahead of Madagascar's Jasmine Koala (6m81) and her compatriot Prestina Oluchi Ochonogor (6m67).
Since 2021, Ese Brume has held the African record for the women's long jump (7m17). At 28, she is a three-time African champion, Commonwealth champion and two-time World Athletics medalist.
