Guinea: Renaissance Fc players "attacked and injured" by Milo FC fans

The match between Renaissance Fc and Milo Fc (1-1) ended in a scene of rare violence. Milo fans violently attacked Renaissance players. In addition to the injured, the club claims to have lost the licenses of certain players and a sum of two million Guinean francs (214 euros).

Images of rare violence have shaken social networks in Guinea. Players from Renaissance Fc were attacked after their 1-1 draw with Milo FC.Milo FC fans reportedly attacked Renaissance FC players and coaches, throwing stones at them just after the final whistle. In a fit of anger, the Renaissance coach accused his counterpart of being primarily responsible for the incident.

"After the match, Milo's head coach went running to attack the referee. It's true that the referee made mistakes, but soccer is about fair play. As Milo's chief technical officer, if he takes the liberty of running to attack the referee and the fans come down to attack us, whose fault is that? It's because of what the head coach did that the fans attacked us," Abdoulaye Camara, general manager of Renaissance FC, told Guinéematin, quoted by Foot224.

Ismaël Kaba's response was swift. The technician denied the allegations. He explained: "I didn't attack the referee, I went onto the pitch and asked him: 'Tell me, did you play against us today, 2 penalties? And then the second penalty wasn't a penalty. He told me straight out to leave in front of him, and I told him not to answer me like that either, but I didn't throw myself at him, I didn't even touch him, there were policemen between us".

In addition to the injuries, Renaissance FC claims to have lost the licenses of certain players and the sum of two million Guinean francs (214 euros). The club has referred the matter to the Guinean Football League, which is expected to react to the incident.
