West Africa Champion's Cup: Horoya and Casa Sports win

The first edition of the West Africa Champion's Cup started on Sunday, August 21, 2022 in Yorokoguiyah in the prefecture of Dubreka, 70 km from Conakry. This competition, which brings together the champions of Guinea (Horoya AC), Mali (Djoliba AC) and Senegal (Casa Sports) and the SOAR academy, runner-up to Horoya AC in the championship, is an initiative aimed at preparing these clubs for interclub competitions.

Two matches were on the bill. In the opening game, Horoya AC won against Djoliba AC of Mali with a score of 2-1. The Guinean champion who had conceded the opening goal on a goal of Ousmane Coulibaly in the 40th minute, will return to the score before the break on a free kick of Mohamed Djibo Wonkoye. After the break, Horoya AC scored a second goal through Alseny Soumah "Chamakal" (52nd).

In the other match of the day, the SOAR academy, which faced the Senegalese of Casa Sports, lost by a score of 2-1. After opening the score by Lamana Dicko (23rd), the Senegalese champion will see SOAR return to the score on a clear shot of Christopher Kandjor (25th). But Mouctar Diallo scored the winning goal for the Senegalese (38th). Horoya AC and Casa Sports are leading the tournament with three points each. The second day is scheduled for Tuesday. Casa Sports of Senegal will face Djoliba AC of Mali and Horoya AC will face SOAR academy.
