African Women’s Handball Championship: Cameroon beat DRC to set up final against Angola

It is the end of the adventure for the Congo in Dakar, Senegal in the 2022 Handball Africa Cup of Nations as Cameroon advances further in the competition to the finals.

Cameroon, the actual African vice-champions will be oppose to holders, Angola. The match will take place in Dakar on Saturday, November 19, 2022.

It wasn’t an easy match-up in the semis. Team DRC was eliminated by the Cameroon via a narrow scoreline of 27-25 in the evening of Wednesday, November 16.

There will certainly be a lot of regrets from the DRC ladies of Francis Tuzolana as they missed a qualification ticket, where they were tipped to reach the semis vis-a-vis the squad.

Congo led from the first period by 2 goals difference (12-14), but the Cameroon did what was necessary to return stronger in the second stanza.

The game was delicately poised as the both sides were tied on a parity (25-25) few minutes to the end. The handball Lioness showed more heart and were realistic, as they scored one more point towards the end of the game which therefore sealed their qualification.

Eliminated DRC lose hope for World Cup, while Cameroon is still very much in the race. since by playing the semi-final, it would validate the ticket for this world competition in 2023
