The Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko Nana Yaw Amponsah has describe Asamoah Gyan as a phenomenal player and one of a kind.

Speaking at Asamoah Gyan's book launch titled "LeGyandry" last Saturday at the Kempinski Hotel, Nana Yaw Amponsah described Gyan as a phenomenal player who hasn't gotten the needed recognition he is commanding now.

"Baby Jet Asamoah Gyan is phenomenal and there are only two players I will describe as such. Ronaldo Luiz Nazario de Lima (R9) and Asamoah Gyan himself".

Gyan is Ghana’s  all time leading goal scorer with 51goals and represented the nation at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup  with 6 goals making him  the top African goal scorer in the history of the World Cup.

"For Asamoah to be the country's all time scorer and Africa at the world cup, he is not living the level of celebration he's enjoying now. We have not celebrated Asamoah Gyan enough as a country. A prophet is not regarded in his own hometown so we should not wait for him to die and put up a monoment for him. Our legends need to be celebrated before they pass on even with a statue, it will be befitting" he added.

A number of the country’s former and current footballers, Members of Parliament, Ministers, Diplomats, business leaders and fans of the former Black Stars captain joined him to launch the book which documents his life as a successful footballer and an entrepreneur.

The book was officially launched by President Nana Akuffo Addo who was the Guest of Honour for the event.
