CAF Champions League Qualifiers: Sunday’s results

CAF Champions League Qualifiers: Sunday’s results

Al Ahly, Mamelodi Sundowns, Zamalek, the big ones of the continent did not tremble in this 2nd round of the African Champions League.

For their entry in this 2nd qualifying round for the group stage of the CAF Champions League, the "big boys" of the continent have done the job. The most beautiful victory of this rich day of soccer particularly going to Mamelodi Sundowns. The South Africans have indeed been merciless against the small thumb La Passe (7-0). A large victory away from home that virtually ensures their qualification for the group stage.

The Egyptians of Al Ahly went to ensure a short victory on the ground of the US Monastir. The unfortunate finalists of the last edition won on the smallest of marks (1-0) against the Tunisians. If they take a good option, the Red Devils will have to stay on guard in the return match.

Another Egyptian giant to have reassured on Sunday, Zamalek. The neighbor and rival of Al Ahly also won in Burkina Faso against Flambeau du Centre. A single goal was enough to make the White Knights happy. In a good position, the Egyptian champion will however have to confirm in the return match.

Horoya assured against ASEC Mimosas
On the road to ASEC Mimosas in Côte d'Ivoire, Horoya, which has struggled on the African scene in recent seasons, dominated its opponent with a score of 1-0. With this success, the Guineans offer themselves the right to hope for a qualification in the group phase. But it will not be necessary to weaken during the return leg.

The bad operation of this 2nd round goes to Wydad Casablanca. The Moroccans lost to Rivers United of Nigeria (2-1). With their backs to the wall, they will have to reverse the trend in the return match at home to hope to validate their ticket.
