The head coach of Simba SC has warned that they must be at their best when they face Raja Casablanca in a TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Group C match on Saturday.
After losing 1-0 away to Horoya in Guinea last weekend, the Tanzanian side will be hungry to register their first win at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
“We need to rectify our mistakes and prepare well because Raja Casablanca is not a small team. We need to be in the best form to be able to get a good result,” added Simba SC’s head coach Roberto Oliveira.
The Moroccan side started their campaign with a big 5-0 win against Uganda Premier League reigning champions Vipers SC. But Oliveira has made it clear that although Raja Casablanca won their opening match, Simba SC has what it takes to pick maximum points on Sunday.
“We shall need to be at our best and also our fans need to come in big numbers to cheer the team,” added the new coach who only joined the team a few weeks ago from Vipers SC.
John Bocco, one of the senior Simba SC players also made it clear that they must work hard to be in the best form to win the match against Raja Casablanca. “We have a good team and we must make our home advantage count,” added Bocco.
Simba SC will also be motivated by the fact that the Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan put in place a cash offer of US$2150 (5 million Tanzanian shillings) for each goal that the team scores.
The President also made the same offer for every goal scored by another Tanzanian team Young Africans who are featuring in the group stage of the TotalEnergies Confederation Cup.
