No feat for Cape Town City. The South African club, widely beaten (3-0) in front of its public last week by Petro Luanda, lost again on Friday in the second leg of the 2nd preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. The Angolans won this second round 1-0. They qualify for the group stage of the Champions League. Petro had reached the semi-finals of this competition last season. Cape Town will have to pass through the round of the CAF Cup to continue its adventure on the African scene.

Like Petro Luanda, Mamelodi Sundowns qualified with flying colors. The South Africans have atomized the Seychellois of the Pass. The Brazilians of Africa, after winning the first leg 7-0, also dominated the return leg on Friday, October 14 (8-1). La Passe will have to play the round of recadrage for the CAF Cup.

Zamalek and CR Belouizdad ensure at home
Without trembling, Zamalek has qualified for the group stage of the CAF Champions League. The Egyptian giant has easily disposed of Flambeau du Centre. In the first leg, the Egyptians had won on the smallest score (1-0). But at home, the Burundian formation has suffered the thunderbolt of Zamalek. And the score is without appeal (5-1).

The hope of Djoliba AC to play in the group phase of the CAF Champions League was dashed on Friday. Victorious in the first leg (2-1), the Malians fell in Algeria.  CR Belouizdad has indeed been very solid at home. The Algerian formation has disposed of Djoliba (2-0). The Malian club and Flambeau du Centre will play the round of the CAF Cup.
