CHAN 2023 Qualifiers: Big shocks across the continent

Only the Mauritania vs Guinea Bissau game will be played on Monday, August 29, to witness the end of the CHAN 2023 play-offs. In the meantime, some nations have succeeded in their goal of winning the first leg before the return in a week time.

DR Congo dominates Chad in Yaoundé
The local Leopards of the DR Congo have made a good operation against Chad. They beat (2-1) their opponent in Yaounde where the first leg of the playoffs for the CHAN 2023 was played. Adam Bossu (13th) and Philippe Kinzumbi (42nd) were the Congolese strikers. The Sao of Chad will reduce the score (1-2) on a penalty kick at the 52nd minute of the game. The DR Congo is expected to finish the job at home  later this week.

Equatorial Guinea surprises Cameroon
It is perhaps one of the surprises of these play-offs for the CHAN 2023. Cameroon was surprised by Equatorial Guinea (1-0), in Malabo. This result is however playable for the local Indomitable Lions who will be able to make up for their delay at home.

Angola, Central African Republic, Ghana and Togo win
It was not necessary to miss in the first game. Especially if it is a two-legged match, it is necessary to ensure at home. This is what Angola, Central African Republic, Togo and Ghana did in the first leg of the CHAN 2023 play-off. The Angolans dominated South Africa by 2-0. Danilson (13th) and Teixeira (68th) signed this victory of the Palancas Negras. The Central Africans also got the better of Congo (2-1). While the Ghanaians beat Nigeria by 2-0 with goals from Afriyie (49th, sp) and Suraj (86th). As well as Togo who ensured the minimum service (1-0) in front of Niger. Agoro was the only scorer of this game (56th).

Uganda edges Tanzania
Uganda realizes a good operation. The local Cranes have indeed beaten Tanzania (1-0) on the road for the first leg of the CHAN 2023 qualifiers. Travis Mutyaba took advantage of a defensive error of the hosts to score the only goal of the match at the end of the game (89th).
