In the opening match of the first day of the national soccer championship of League 1 of Burkina Faso, season 2022-2023, the Yellow and Green of ASFA Yennenga of Ouagadougou beat this Friday afternoon at the Wobi stadium of Bobo-Dioulasso, the academicians of Bama of Rahimo FC on the narrow score of 1 goal to 0.
ASFA striker Sié Dieudonné Noufé scored the only goal of the match in the 61st minute. The kick-off of this championship was given by Bertrand Kaboré, former head of external relations of the Burkinabe Football Federation (FBF), former secretary general of the FBF, member of the CAF Media Commission and CAF match commissioner. Before the kick-off, Kaboré wished good luck to all the local soccer players.
The other matches of the first day of the national championship of League 1 will be played on Saturday and Sunday. For this first day, two matches have been postponed to a later date: AS Douanes - Vitesse FC and AS Sonabel - Rail Club du Kadiogo (RCK). Douanes and RCK engaged in the two interclub competitions of CAF are preparing to challenge their opponents (Real Bamako of Mali and Asante Kotoko of Ghana) for the second leg of the first preliminary round of these competitions.
