French Cup: Almike Moussa Ndiaye in intensive care after a big mistake by Bailly

Eric Baily is crossing his fingers for Almike Moussa Ndiaye. On Saturday, January 7, in the round of 32 of the French Cup, the OM defender committed a big foul on the midfielder of Hyères. The latter is currently in intensive care.

Olympique Marseille has qualified for the round of 16 of the French Cup. The Phocéens easily disposed of Hyères (2-0), a National 2 club. Alexis Sanchez and Bamba Dieng scored the two Marseille goals. However, OM played almost the whole game with ten men. Since its defender Eric Bailly was sent off in the 15th minute. The Ivorian international committed a big foul on Almike Moussa Nidaye. On a counter-attack of Hyères, Ndiaye was received full force in the chest the foot of Eric Bailly, arrived late. The Mauritanian midfielder was transported to the Hôpital Nord in Marseille where he is currently admitted in a critical situation.

"He was transferred to the North Hospital and they admitted him in intensive care, as a precaution," said the manager of Hyères, Mourad Boudjellal, adding that his player had previously been taken to a hospital in Martigues, where the match between Hyères and OM was held.
"We pray that everything goes well for him. It is a great boy and one of our best elements," added the technician.

With such news, Eric Baily has probably spent a nightmarish nights. After his exclusion, the Ivorian went to the dressing room to inquire about the health of the Mauritanian. "Bailly came quickly in our locker room to offer his shirt and especially to take news of him," confided the assistant coach, Zaki Noubir on the radio Maritima. At first, the technical staff of Hyères had given rather reassuring news. "More fear than harm, nothing serious, perhaps a concussion," he had announced before the player was admitted to intensive care at the North Marseille hospital.
