Ghana Premier League Match day 34 Wrap: RTU thrash Hearts to survive relegation as Aduana suffers defeat in Techiman

Yaw Annor of AshantiGold wins the golden boot for the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season

The 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League season has finally come to an end after a hectic round of 34 matches.

Elmina based Elmina Sharks, Techiman Eleven Wonders and West African Football Academy have been relegated to the Division One League for the coming season.

League champions, Asante Kotoko were held to a 1-1 draw at the Accra sports stadium by Accra Lions on Saturday afternoon as Frank Mbella failed to score to secure the golden boot as he eventually lost it to Yaw Annor of AshantiGold SC.

Abass Samari scored for Accra Lions whiles Samuel Boateng levelled for Asante Kotoko.

Accra Hearts of Oak suffered yet another humiliation infront of home fans as Real Tamale United came from a goal down to defeat the phobians by 4:1 at the Accra sports stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Suraj Seidu gave the home side an early lead in the 10th minute, pouncing on a lose ball in the 18yard box.

Ronald Frimpong quickly responded with the equaliser for the visitors from David Abagna's cross in the 17th minute.

David Abagna doubled the lead for RTU from the spot in the 29th minute. Ronald Frimpong completed his brace with another goal in the 35th minute before Mohammed Alhassan added the fourth for the visitors through a 76th own goal.

The victory means Real Tamale United will not be relegated as they now move to the 15th position on the league table.

In-form Yaw Annor bagged a brace for AshantiGold in the first half to win the golden boot for the 2021/2022 season but his side however failed to hold on to the lead as Bibiani Goldstars produced a comeback to snatch a point at the Duns park.

Elmina Sharks produced a magic at the Nduom sports complex as they came back from two goals down to snatch a point against Accra Great Olympics.

Varney Sando and Samuel Ashie Quaye had given the visitors the lead before Yusif Chibsah and Francis Oteng levelled things up for the relegated side.

Techiman Eleven Wonders despite their 2-1 victory over Aduana Stars, are still relegated from the premier league.

Elsewhere at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu, Dreams FC scored in both halves to record a 2:0 victory over Medeama Sporting club.
