MMA: Its over between Francis Ngannou and the UFC

Francis Ngannou will not be seen in another UFC bout at least for the next couple of months. The contract binding the Cameroonian and the company has been dismissed off the table. Shocking revelations by Dana White on Saturday night.

On the sidelines of UFC Vegas 67, Dana White spoke in a press conference on the subject of Ngannou. He assured that the Cameroonian has been released from his contract with the UFC.

After having definitively confirmed the UFC 285 clash between Ciryl Gane and Jon Jones on March 4, the UFC boss spoke about the case of Francis Ngannou: "We have been negotiating with him for over two years. We offered Francis a contract that would have made him the highest paid heavyweight in the history of the organization, and he refused the proposal."

Francis Ngannou who is recovering from a knee surgery after his Heavyweight title win against Gane last year was suppose to take on Jon Jones later this year in March according to UFC's programming. Now that Francis is out of the picture, Frenchman Ciryl Gane will have another shot at the heavyweight title when he takes on Jones in March this year.

Dana White suggested that Ngannou could be tempted to fight other lower opponents in other leagues to make more money. He further said Francis could also not want to risk things with his weight, age and knee surgery. Dana also said he has had over three hundred dinner with Francis all attempted to convince the fighter to get the proposed contract but still could not change his mind.
