Folarin Balogun shines in France
Nigeria eligible forward Folarin Balogun has continued his impressive form with Reims after grabbing a hat trick to earn maximum points in an emphatic come-from-behind triumph against Lorient.
Just a few days after netting a stunning late equalizer in the 1-1 draw away to champions PSG, Balogun ensures to once again register his name on the scoresheet.
With his first career hat trick, the Super Eagles-eligible forward helped Reims roar from a two-goal deficit to beat Lorient 4-2 in a Ligue 1 match on Wednesday night.
Lorient lost star forward Terem Moffi to OGC Nice on transfer deadline day but took little notice as they raced to a two-goal lead at the Stade Auguste Delaune courtesy of efforts from Enzo Le Fee and Ibrahima Kone, before the Arsenal loanee halved the deficit from the penalty spot just before the interval.
Kamory Doumbia drew level for Reims minutes into the second half. Then, the consistent goal-scoring medium scored twice in three minutes to earn the hosts the win.
Represented England in the youth teams, but can still switch allegiance, Balogun has now scored more Ligue 1 goals than any other player so far this season.
The 21-year-old has now surpassed Super Eagles striker Moffi (12) and PSG's Kylian Mbappe (13) on the goalscorer's chart with 14 goals to his name.
At the other end, Nigerian midfielder Bonke Innocent featured for 52 minutes before he was subbed off.

The victory has also extended Reims' unbeaten streak to 13 games under their new manager Will Still.
