MATCHS DU JOUR 3
Asisat Oshoala has added a new record to her burgeoning collection of Barcelona honours after becoming the first player to score in six consecutive matches in the club's history.
On Wednesday, the record five-time African Women's Footballer of the Year celebrated her 100 goals in 131 appearances, with her consecutive hat trick against Gift Monday's Granadilla Tenerife.
The Nigeria international assired the opening goal scored by Fridolina Rolfo for Jonatan Giráldez's ladies at Estadio Antonio Puchades in their 4-0 Spanish Liga F win over Valencia, within the opening three minutes of action. She went on to get on the scoresheet with a brilliant finish in the 15th minute.
Her latest goals come as the striker continues to discover arguably the richest form of his career, with the forward a standout performer at Camp Nou across the start of the 2022-23 campaign.
Oshoala's finishes - which take her tally to 14 in 11 starts of her 16 league appearances this season so far - further a run that dates all the way back to December 10, when she netted the winner in a 4-0 win over Charity Adule's Alhama in the Spanish Liga F.
In those six consecutive matches, the former Arsenal and Liverpool star has scored 11 goals for the 2021 European champions and her overall tally hit 101 in 132 outings across all competitions.
With 14 goals, the Super Falcons is just six away from her single season record 20-goal mark in 2020 and last season when she won the historic Spanish Pichichi award.
