Prix Foé 2022: 12 finalists known

Prix Foé 2022: 12 finalists known

The Prix Mark Vivien Foé is awarded each season to the best African player in Ligue 1.

Who will succeed Gaël Kakuta? Winner in 2021, the Lens midfielder will not be crowned best African player in Ligue 1 this season. And for good reason, his name is not among the list of 12 finalists for the Foé Award, named after the former Cameroon international.

Awarded every year at the end of the season by RFI and France 24, this trophy rewards the African player considered to have been the best throughout the season. For this 2022 edition, the Parisians Achraf Hakimi and Idrissa Gana Gueye are in the running. As well as Lens' Seko Fofana. Nayef Aguerd and Hamari Traoré from Rennes are also among the finalists.

The winner will be known on May 16 after the votes of journalists from several editorial offices, including that of Sport News Africa, specialists in Ligue 1 and African soccer.
