For a man who has been around the technical staff of the Senegalese national football team since 2012, Aliou Cisse has gained the love and respect of his compatriots over time. Over the years he has led the Teranga Lions from grass to grace, eventually winning the country's first ever continental title of the AFCON in 2021 in Cameroon. Cisse went further to qualify the team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup competition, making a second consecutive appearance at the world event after 2018 in Russia.
