Simba SC line-up friendly match against CSKA Moscow in Abu Dhabi

Tanzania Premier League side, Simba Sports Club will play two friendly matches in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Fresh from signing a new coach Roberto Oliviera 'Robertinho’, Simba SC has been camping in UAE for a few days now as they prepare for the remaining second round matches of the Tanzania Premier League and the group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.

Simba SC are expected to face Russian professional side CSKA Moscow on January 15th in Abu Dhabi. But before facing the team from Europe, Simba SC will first play UAE side, Al Dhafra FC on Friday.

Ahmed Ally, the Simba SC Media and Communications Manager told Sports News Africa that the camp in Abu Dhabi is good for the team and for the new coach to get to know players.

“We are happy that we have managed to arrange two friendly matches which will also help the players to test themselves and the coach to learn more about the players,”
added Ally.

The new coach Roberto Oliviera 'Robertinho’ also made it clear that he is happy about the camping in UAE because it gives him an opportunity to get to know the players.

“I thank the Club management for organizing this camp because as a new coach it will help me study several aspects of the team and players,” added the Brazilian.

Simba SC who were last week ejected in the group stage of the on-going Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar are currently placed second behind arch-rivals and defending champions Young Africans SC in the 2022/2023 Tanzania Premier League log.
