Mercato: Cameroon's African champion heads to Libya

Cameroon's forward Jacques Zoua kisses the winner's trophy after Cameroon beat Egypt 2-1 in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations final football match between Egypt and Cameroon at the Stade de l'Amitie Sino-Gabonaise in Libreville on February 5, 2017. / AFP PHOTO / GABRIEL BOUYS

Jacques Zoua is dribbling his world. The Cameroonian international striker has signed for a Libyan club. He has signed for Al-Ahly of Tripoli. The 30-year-old player has had various experiences in Europe. He has played in Germany, Turkey, France, Belgium and Romania.

The 2017 African champion has just finished an experience in Cameroon. He had signed at Coton Sport Garoua in January 2021. But it was more to be able to play the CHAN 2021. Jacques Zoua is therefore offered an unexpected rebound. A club where he can play to perhaps apply for a place in the 2021 AFCON.

'' I considered that this was the last turn in my career," the Cameroonian told the Foot2022 website. ''I was looking for a project that I really liked. I was coming out of a rather complicated phase in my career and I wanted to go where I was wanted, quite simply.'' Jacques Zoua will be able to play in the preliminary rounds of the CAF Cup with his new club.
