Qualifying for the CAN 2023 is over in some groups at the end of the 6th and final day. Tanzania, Ghana and Angola did their utmost to secure their tickets. As did Tunisia and Equatorial Guinea, who completed the work already begun on Matchday 5.

Group E for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers delivered its verdict on Thursday September 7.Ghana, who hosted the Central African Republic, won 2-1. However, the Black Stars went behind as early as the 25th minute when Louis Mafouta scored. The Ghanaians then sounded the revolt, first equalising through Mohamed Kudus (43rd) before Ernest Nuamah gave his team-mates qualification (92+2). Ghana thus finish top of their group with 12 points. The other qualifier from Group E is Angola (9 points). The Palancas Negras held Madagascar to a goalless draw to secure second place at the Finals.The Central African Republic, with 7 points, missed out. Madagascar is in the dunce's bonnet with just 3 points.

Tanzania to play 3rd Finals in history

Great performance from Tanzania. The Taifa Stars held Algeria to a goalless draw at home.A positive result that has qualified the Tanzanians for the next 2023 AFCON , to be held in Côte d'Ivoire. This will be Tanzania's third African Cup finals after 1980 and 2019.

Tanzania finished second in Group F with 8 points behind Algeria (16 points). But ahead of Uganda (3rd, 7 points), who dominated (2-0) Niger (2 points). But this result will count for nothing.


Tunisia and Equatorial Guinea on the menu

In Group J, it's Tunisia and Equatorial Guinea who will play in the next CAN.The Tunisians (13 points+10) ended their qualifying campaign on a high note.Les Aigles de Carthage overcame Botswana (3rd, 4 points) 3-0 to record their fourth victory of the tournament. Equatorial Guinea (2nd, 13 points+2), who had already qualified on Matchday 5, drew 1-1 with Libya (4 points).
