Player to watch: Mohammed Kudus
Mohammed Kudus to be Ghana's ace of spades
He will once again spearhead the Ghanaian national team. A symbol of freshness and enthusiasm, Mohammed Kudus is set to replace the aging André and Jordan Ayew brothers. At the age of 23, he is already a key player for the Black Stars. His 30 caps and 9 goals attest to this. This competition in Côte d'Ivoire will be the first for the West Ham (Premier League) player in his young career, after splashing the screen at the last World Cup in Qatar in November 2022.
The coach: Chris Hughton
The AFCON gives Chris Hughton the opportunity to silence the critics in Ghana.
Having arrived on the Ghana bench on February 12, 2022 to replace Otto Addo, the former Brighton (Premier League) coach has yet to win unanimous approval. The African Cup of Nations could be an opportunity for the 64-year-old to silence his critics.
