AFCON 2025 (Q): Chad, Liberia, Eswatini and South Sudan will be there

The last tickets to complete the teams qualified for the group phase of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers were distributed on Tuesday March 26. Four teams, namely Eswatini, Chad, South Sudan and Liberia, will be hoping to make it to Morocco in 2025.

White draw enough to keep South Sudan happy

South Sudan will be among the teams competing in the group phase of the AFCON 2025. The South Sudanese achieved this by holding Sao Tome and Principe to a 0-0 draw. The Sudanese were boosted by a 1-1 draw in the first leg on their opponents' home turf, with one goal scored.

Chad book their ticket

There's a little more clarity on the selections that will be added to the group phase of the next AFCON 2025 qualifiers. Chad booked their ticket on March 26. The Sao managed to beat Mauritius on their own turf (1-2). This was their second straight win over their opponents, following a narrow 1-0 victory at home. Mauritius had opened the scoring through Jean Villeneuve (42+2). The Chadians managed to reverse the trend with goals from Charles Tchouplaou (74th) and Ousmane Hissein Hassan (90+10).

Liberia will be there

Liberia have qualified for the group phase of the AFCON 2025. A draw (0-0) in the preliminary round against Djibouti, on Tuesday March 26, was enough to advance to the next stage after the first leg success (0-2). Mission accomplished for Liberia!

Eswatini through with ease

After their brilliant 3-0 victory in the first leg against Somalia, Eswatini had put one foot and four toes forward for the group phase of the AFCON 2025. They did so on Tuesday March 26 at home. The Sihlangu Semnikati (The King's Shield) validated their ticket after a 2-2 draw. Sabelo Ndzinisa (46th) and Bongwa Matsebula (49th) struck for the Eswatinians. Mohammed Awad (76th) and Yusuf Ahmed (84th) were the Somali scorers.
