African Football League: Draw to be held this Saturday September 2

The date for the first edition of the African Football League is now known. The competition will be held from October 20 to November 11.In the meantime, the draw is scheduled for Saturday September 2 in Cairo, Egypt.

The inaugural edition will bring together 8 of Africa's most famous and successful teams, from the three African regional blocs of North, Central-West and South-East.

"This historic inaugural edition of the AFL will take place over four weeks, with the opening ceremony and first match on October 20, 2023 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The semi-finals will take place between October 29 and November 1. The final matches, which will determine the winner of the inaugural AFL competition, will take place on November 5 and 11, 2023," says CAF.

The clubs involved are : Al Ahly Football Club (Egypt), Espérance Sportive de Tunis (Tunisia), Wydad Athletic Club (Morocco), Enyimba Football Club (Nigeria), Tout Puissant Mazembe (DR Congo), Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club (South Africa), Atlético Petróleos de Luanda (Angola) and Simba Sports Club (Tanzania).
