World Athletics has unveiled, on Tuesday, December 20, the qualification system for the 48 athletics events of the next Olympics, Paris 2024. Those began in November with the marathon. They will continue this December and in 2023.
One thousand eight hundred and ten places (905 per sex) are to be taken. Half of them will be attributed according to a system of minima while the other half will be distributed according to the world ranking.

Most of the individual qualifying events will start on July 1, 2023. The 10,000m, combined, walking and relay events will start on December 31.
A maximum of three athletes per gender per event are allowed per country. National federations decide when they have more than three eligible athletes in their ranks.
