BAL 2023: Stade Malien vs Al Ahly and Douanes vs Petro in semi-finals

The posters of the semi-finals of the 3rd edition of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) are known. Stade Malien-Al Ahly and AS Douanes-Petro will face each other this Wednesday, May 24 for a place in the final.

Petro Luanda had a tough time to beat Abidjan Basket Club Fighters (88-84). Carlos Morais (18 pts0, Childe Dundão (15 pts), Damian Hollis (14 pts) and Souleyman Diabaté (13 pts) guided the Angolans against a good team of Abidjan BC Fighters. Omar Abada (22 pts) and Stéphane Konaté (13 pts) were not enough.

In the semifinals, Petro Luanda will meet AS Douanes who beat Ferroviario (93-73). The back of the Gabelous, Samba Dali Fall (23 pts, 6 rbds, 5 assists), was the X factor of this historic qualification.

The other semi-final will oppose the Stade Malien to the Egyptians of Al Ahly. Both teams are playing their first BAL. The Cairo club starts however, favorite in this opposition.
