Brazilian tactician Roberto Oliveira Gonçalves has parted ways with Uganda Premier League reigning champions Vipers SC.
Oliveira who joined the Club in August last year helped Vipers SC win the League title and for the first time qualify for the group stage of the 2022/2023 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.
“Vipers Sports Club announces that Roberto Oliveira has left his role as a head coach with immediate effect,” said a communication by Vipers SC on December 29th.
The Club thanked Oliveira for his tireless efforts during his time as the head coach and wished him success in the future.
“The Club shall in the shortest time possible come out with a statement on the club’s technical bench leadership following the departure of its Head Coach,” added the communication by the Club.
The Brazilian coach joined Vipers SC last August on a 3-year contract when he replaced Fred Kajoba. Oliveira has been selected from the 84 applicants. The club has however not communicated if the assistant coach Marcelo Cardoso will remain working for the Club.
Before joining Vipers SC, the 62-year old Oliveira had managed African team; Stade Tunisien, Hammam-Sousse, Grombalia Sports (Tunisia), Atlético Sport Aviação (Angola), Rayon Sports (Rwanda) and Kenya’s Gor Mahia FC.
