CAF CL: 15 teams already qualified for groups

5 places were still up for grabs in the CAF LDC group stage at the start of today's action. The day's 4 qualifiers are Simba, ASEC Mimosas, Al Hilal Ondurman and FC Nouadhibou. Only one place remains to be decided between CR Bélouizad, winners of the first leg (1-3), and Sierra Leone's BO Rangers, with the return leg to be played on Monday October 2 at 17:00 GMT.

Simba (Tanzania) vs Power Dinamos (Zambia)

As in the first leg, Tanzania's Simba SC were unable to settle the 90-minute tie with Zambia's Power Dinamos. Final score 1-1. In the first leg the score was 2-2 in Zambia. Simba thus qualified on the number of away goals scored. For the second leg on Sunday October 1, it was the Zambians who opened the scoring through Andy Boyéli (17th min). Simba equalised in the 68th minute with an own goal from Kondwani Chiboni.

ASEC (Ivory Coast) vs Al-Ahly Benghazi

ASEC Mimosas also qualified at the expense of Al Ahly Bengazhi. The two teams had played out a 0-0 draw in the first leg in Libya.In the return leg, ASEC Mimosas of Côte d'Ivoire won 2-1.The Ivorians opened the scoring at home in the 10th minute through Mofosse Karidioula. Libya's Al Ahly restored parity with a goal from Salem Roma (19th min). The hosts finally regained the lead in the 38th minute on another goal by Mofosse Karidioula, and never lost it again.


Nouadhibou (Mauritania) vs Real Bamako (Mali)

Nouadhibou are the day's 3rd qualifier for the CAF CL group stage. To reach this level, the Mauritanians managed a 1-1 draw in the return match against Real Bamako of Mali. Real Bamako opened the scoring in the 82nd minute through Cheick Keita, before Moussa Koné equalised for Nouadhibou (91st min). The hard work had already been done in the first match, when Nouadhibou inflicted a crushing 0-3 defeat on Real de Bamako. The Malians never managed to spark even the beginnings of a revolt in their match on Sunday October 1.


Al-Hilal Omdurman (Sudan) vs Primero de Agosto (Angola)

Al Hilal are the day's final qualifiers for the CAF CL group stage.They won at home against Primero de Agosto of Angola (2-1). The first leg ended in a goalless draw in Angola.

For the second leg, Al Hilal Ondurman scored on a Yasser Muzamelun strike (7th). The Sudanese then doubled their lead in the 40th minute with Mohamed Abdelrahman. The Angolans reduced the deficit in the 82nd minute.
