CAF CL: CR Belouizdad face Al Ahly

CAF CL: CR Belouizdad face Al Ahly

CR Belouizdad will take on defending champions Al Ahly of Cairo (Egypt) on Friday, February 16 at 19:00 GMT at the Stade du 5-Juillet, in a late match for Matchday 4 of Group D. A win for either team will take them into the quarter-finals of the CAF CL. A win for either of the two teams would give them a glimpse of the CAF CL quarter-finals.

In a tight Group D, where all the teams are within a whisker of each other, every point is precious.CR Belouizdad (3rd, 4 pts) find themselves at a decisive turning point in this match on the 4th late round of the competition. A win over Egyptian giants Al Ahly this Friday (7pm GMT) would guarantee the Algerians top spot in the group. They will then have a glimpse of the quarter-finals in this edition . To do so, they'll need to pull out all the stops and raise their game. All the more so as Sofiane Bouchar's partners will be facing the defending champions and current group leaders with 5 points.

The Belouizdadis nevertheless have a great opportunity to kill two birds with one stone on Matchday 4 of the CAF CL. Take the lead in the group and, above all, take an important step towards the quarter-finals."We know we have an important match. We're doing everything we can to get the squad ready for the challenge against Al-Ahly.  All the players are committed to being there," said CRB's Brazilian coach Marcos Paqueta. The coach can therefore count on his entire squad for the big match on Matchday 4.

On their part, Al-Ahly of Cairo may be suffering from a lack of rhythm. The Egyptians have not played an official match since the Egyptian Super cup final against Future FC (4-2, a.p) on December 28 but Al Ahly remain Al Ahly. A team well-versed in the mysteries of the competition.
