CAF CL: Results of preliminaries

Power Dynamo, Young Africans, Etoile Sportive du Sahel, Jwaneng and UD Songo have all qualified for the next round of the LDC- CAF, following the return legs of the first round on Saturday August 26. They join Al Hilal of Sudan, who qualified following the withdrawal of Wau Salam, Orlando Pirates, Al-Merrikh and APR FC Bumamuru, who booked their tickets between Thursday and Friday.

Power Dynamo (Zambia) vs African Stars (Namibia)

Zambia's Power Dynamo won at home (1-0) against African Stars (Namibia) in the second leg.Boyeli scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot (30th). Power thus qualify for the next round of the CAF CL thanks to the away goal scored in their 2-1 defeat in the first leg. Green Mamba (Eswatini) vs UD Songo (Mozambique)
Mozambique's UD Songo won the first leg at home by the narrowest of margins (1-0) against Eswatini's Green Mamba.The return leg ended in a 1-1 draw away from home.UD Songo thus advance to the next round.

Young Africans (Tanzania) vs Ali Sabieh (Djibouti)

Young Africans pulled out all the stops to secure qualification against Ali Sabieh of Djibouti in the return leg (5-1). The Tanzanians had already taken a serious option in the first leg with their win (0-2).

Etoile Sportive du Sahel (Tunisia) vs CS Constantine

Etoile Sportive du Sahel also confirmed their qualification for the next round of the LDC-CAF, with a 2nd victory. This time at home against CS Constantine (1-0).Abdelli scored his side's winner in the 16th minute. The Tunisians had won the first leg away from home (1-2).

Vipers (Uganda) vs Jwaneng Galaxy (Botswana)

Jwaneng qualified after their matches against Vipers. The Botswana team lost (2-1) in the return leg.Their 2-0 victory in the first leg was therefore decisive in their qualification.The Ugandans hung on for a long time, leading 2-0 in extra time. This lasted until the 89th minute of today's match, when Jwaneg unfortunately reduced the deficit and confirmed their qualification.

Bumamuru (Burundi) vs Bendjé (Gabon)

Bumamuru beat Bendjé 5-1 in the return leg on Saturday to book their place in the next round of the LDC-CAF.Mokono Elie Eldinho scored 2 goals and team-mate Ali Shabani Valentin added a hat-trick. In the first leg, the 2 teams played out a 1-1 draw.

FAR vs ASKO (Togo)

FAR qualified with ease against ASKO of Togo. After their victory on Togolese soil (0-1). On Saturday, the FAR outclassed ASKO (7-0) to logically advance to the next round.

Matches played on Thursday August 24 and Friday August 25

Orlando Pirates qualified for the 2nd round of the CAF CL preliminaries after beating Djabal FC of Comoros 3-0 in the return leg. Zakhele Lepasa scored twice. The South Africans had also won the first leg (0-1).

Al-Merrikh (Sudan) vs Otoho d'Oyo (Congo Brazza)

Al Merrikh (Sudan) and Otoho d'Oyo (Congo Brazza) played out a 0-0 draw on Saturday. The Sudanese side, who drew 1-1 away from home in the first leg, thus qualified.

Gaadiidka (Somalia) vs APR FC (Rwanda)

APR FC (Rwanda) and Gaadiidka (Somalia) drew 1-1 in the first leg. The Rwandans went to Somalia to win (0-2) in the return leg and qualify.
