CAF CONFED CUP: All results of first preliminaries

It's off to the races for the 2023-2024 Caf Cup season. The competition kicked off on Saturday August 19 with the 1st round of preliminary matches, which continued on Sunday August 20. The results that emerged from these first matches suggest that nothing is done yet, even if teams such as Stade Malien, Arta and Fus Rabat have taken an early lead towards the return leg.

Bahar Dar Kenema (Ethiopia) 2-1 Azam (Tanzania), Sunday August 20 in the CAF Cup

The 1st first leg of the CAF Cup preliminary round was played between Saturday August 19 and Sunday August 20. However, the most important thing to remember is that a number of surprise teams secured their places at home ahead of the return leg scheduled for August 26 and 27.

Tanzania's Azam fell to Bahir Dar Kenema in Ethiopia (2-1). Likewise Olympique Béja of Tunisia, were stunned (0-1) at home by Abu Salim of Libya. Burkina Faso's Etoile Filante pulled off a major coup by holding Senegal's Casa Sport to a 1-1 draw in the first round of CAF Cup preliminaries. Stade Malien, however, hit back with a convincing 1-3 win over Watanga of Liberia.
