Soccer sometimes has its twists and turns. Rivers United had a very happy one on Sunday 03 March 2024. The Nigerians needed a win against Dreams FC at home, and they got it in the 100th minute. However, it was a bad start, as Dreams FC had opened the scoring with a goal from Issah (40th). However, a strike from Deputy (61st) gave Rivers the equaliser, before Godswill (90+10) put his side ahead. The win sees the team reach the quarter-finals of the CAF Cup on 12 points, level on points with the day's opponents, Dreams FC. The big loser in Pool C was Club Africain (3rd, 11 pts), held to a 1-1 draw by Academica Lobito (4th, 2 pts).

Future FC sticks a manita to Al Hilal

It was supposed to be a showdown between 2nd-placed Future FC (8 pts) and 3rd-placed Al Hilal Benghazi (6 pts), with a place in the CAF Cup quarter-finals at stake. It was a clash in name only, as the Libyans were humiliated 0-5. Egypt's Future FC scored through Fouad Zaza (22nd), Mohamed Sadek (45th), Ahmed Atef (55th, 88th) and Al Msmari (69th, csc). With 11 points, Future FC finished 2nd in Group A, behind USM Alger (13 pts).
