Soccer sometimes has its twists and turns. Rivers United had a very happy one on Sunday 03 March 2024. The Nigerians needed a win against Dreams FC at home, and they got it in the 100th minute. However, it was a bad start, as Dreams FC had opened the scoring with a goal from Issah (40th). However, a strike from Deputy (61st) gave Rivers the equaliser, before Godswill (90+10) put his side ahead. The win sees the team reach the quarter-finals of the CAF Cup on 12 points, level on points with the day's opponents, Dreams FC. The big loser in Pool C was Club Africain (3rd, 11 pts), held to a 1-1 draw by Academica Lobito (4th, 2 pts).
