Bamboutos have made the best operation of the first day of the playoffs of the national championship of Cameroon on Sunday. The Mbouda-based club beat Canon Sportifs de Yaounde 2-1 after leading 2-0 in the 19th minute of the game.
Each of the two teams had their half-time. And it is Bamboutos who took better advantage of theirs. Clement Arroga's men started the game well and quickly caused their opponents serious problems. They finally opened the score thanks to a sublime lob from Ali Bettoro (10th). Nine minutes later, William Ekanga made the score 2-0 with a splendid volley.
Canon showed a better face in the second half. The "Mekok Megonda" pushed forward but the opposing defence held firm. Finally, until the 82nd, when after several attempts, Paul Tchikeu finally reduced the score (2-1). A goal for honor, as Bamboutos wins and takes the lead in these playoffs alongside Coton Sport. The Garoua club beat Gazelle (1-0) thanks to a goal by Limane Moussa (82nd).
The second day of this tournament that will determine the champion of Cameroon 2023 is scheduled for May 18. Canon will face Gazelle, while the battle of the leaders will oppose Bamboutos and Coton.
