The champion of Cameroon, season 2021-2022 will be known this Sunday, July 3. The match will oppose Coton Sport of Garoua to Eding Sport of Lekié. The two leaders of the pool B of the championship have validated their respective tickets on Thursday, during the semi-finals of the play-offs played in Garoua.
Eding Sport of Lekié came turn of the lights of Canon Sportif of Yaounde. Neither team managed to find the net and it was necessary to wait for the penalty shoot-out to decide the winner. And it was Eding who made the difference (8-7). In the other match, Coton Sport did not need to go to penalties to defeat Astres de Douala (2-0). One man did the job (almost) alone: Marou Souaibou. The 21-year-old Cameroonian international striker scored twice (47th, 75th), including an incredible lob from nearly 40m.
The two finalists will meet again on Sunday for a final duel. On paper, each team has a 50% chance of winning. In the group stage, Eding Sport of Lekié beat Coton Sport (2-0) in the first leg. But the club from Garoua took revenge in the return match (3-0).
Coton Sport is looking to be crowned champions for the second time in a row after their crown last season.
