Cameroon - Elite One: Les Astres shine as Coton and Canon stalled

The return leg of the Cameroonian Elite top flight has come with great surprises for some clubs while others continue to amass the lockers with valuable points. No major changes at the helm of both pools as Astre of Douala and Eding Sport continue to lead the race.

Les Astres are seemingly unstoppable . After wins against Yong Sport (2-0), Apejes (1-0) and Djiko (1-0), the Douala club picked up another crucial victory on Monday 30 May against Panthère du Ndé (2-0). It was on the occasion of the 18th day in Group A of the Cameroonian football championship, Elite One.

The "Brazilians of Bepanda" have indeed succeeded in a nice festival against an opposing block that had recovered some strength in recent weeks.

Thanks to this victory, Les Astres, leaders of group A (42 points), have increased their lead over the runner-up, Canon Yaounde (34 points). Canon can bite their fingers after the 1-1 draw with neighboring Apejes of Mfou.

In group B, Coton Sport of Garoua has left their feet on the gas and have continued maintaining pressure behind leaders Eding Sport. The Garoua side equally dropped precious points when they were held to a goalless draw by strugglers New Stars of Douala on Monday.
