The second round of qualifying for the CHAN 2023 continues with games played on Saturday. Five matches were on schedule. Mali and Senegal are the big winners.
Mali and Madagascar win on the road
Mali put in the best performance of the day on Saturday. The local Eagles beat Sierra Leone in Monrovia (Liberia) for the first leg. Hamidou Sinayogo (25th) and Ousmane Kamssioko (48th) scored the Malian goals. It is with a comfortable lead that the Malians will receive Sierra Leone for the second round of CHAN 2023.

Madagascar also went to Botswana for a win. The local Barea won on the smallest score thanks to a goal by Tsilavina (17th). A valuable victory for the Malagasy before the return match, scheduled for September 2 at the Mahamasina Antananarivo stadium.
Senegal reassures itself
Senegal has offered Guinea at home. The local Lions dominated the Syli National on the smallest score at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium in Diamniadio. Maleye Diagne scored the only goal of the match (58th). Senegal reassures itself before the return match in Bamako.

Côte d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso, back to back
There was no winner between Malawi and Mozambique in these qualifications for the CHAN 2023. The two teams left on a parity score (1-1) at the national stadium of Bingu in Lilongwe. The Mambas opened the score in the eighth minute of play through Nerson Divrassone. The hosts were quick to respond. Yamikani Chester equalized in the 21st minute. And the score will not move. Mozambique returns with a point before hosting the local Flames on September 2.
It was also a draw between Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast. The local Stallions held the Elephants in check in Yamoussoukro. The second leg will be decisive for both teams in Ouagadougou.
